Bible in 90 Days- Day 60 Check In

Two observations while reading through Lamentations and Ezekiel:

1. It was awfully hard to be a prophet. People hated you. God told you to do weird things. Most people didn't believe you. And really, wouldn't you want to be wrong just once about some of the awful things that were going to happen?!

2. Israel's turning away from God is constantly compared to harlotry and adultery. We are created to be God's. When we turn away from him, we are unfaithful, just as an unfaithful wife.

And my one of my favorite passages in the whole Bible was in my reading yesterday:

Lamentations 3:
21But this I recall and therefore have I hope and expectation:

22It is because of the Lord's mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not.(A)

23They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.

What a great promise in the midst of all this gloom and doom!
