Weekly Wrap Up- Another Sick Kid Edition

We were back into our school routine this week.
We are finishing up reading Little Britches, and we are close to being finished with Story of the World.  The beautiful weather lends itself well to nature studies.  This week we read two picture books about seeds and plants as we are watching for signs of our garden growing.
Kathryne is flying along in her Saxon book as we are transitioning into that math for her.  She didn't like the extra work at first, but now she likes Saxon.  Charles is almost finished with his fourth grade math book.  He completed his last test on Thursday and will complete the book test next week.
Ashlyne and Rachel and I have finished reading Mr. Poppers penguins and are busy with a penguin lapbook.  We are also continuing to complete lessons in Reading Made Easy.
For Bible this week, I used the Easter stories from the free Scripture Adventure lessons I found in the CurrClick East egg hunt.
On Thursday, we enjoyed the beautiful weather at the park with friends.
Today we were supposed to go to Great Wolf Lodge for a mini family vacation, but Rachel woke up with a sore throat and running a fever.  A quick trip to urgent care confirmed that she had strep throat.  Thankfully we were able to move our trip to next weekend.  Instead of Great Wolf today, we found some other ways to have fun:

Jason took the big kids to see How to Train Your Dragon.

Trees were climbed:

Cars were worked on:

Maps of the US were discovered in pop tart crumbs:

Flowers were enjoyed:

And so were cute kitty cats:

Not a bad day after all.
