What My Child is Reading- June 26,2010

Yesterday I took all the kiddos to Barnes and Noble to pick out their award books for the summer reading program.  Here are their choices:

Kathryne chose My Last Best Friend.  It seems to be a little easy read for her, but she enjoys reading under her reading level, so she can devour more books faster.
My Last Best Friend (Friends for Keeps)

Charles chose The Calder Game.  He is really into adventure/mystery right now, so this one looked really appealing.  Of course, he is rereading all the Percy Jackson books right now, so it may be a while before he starts this one.

Ashlyne chose Last One in is a Rotten Egg.  This is an easy to read story about a little boy learning to swim.  It was great for her because she has been taking swim lessons, and it seems to be an easy enough read that she can work toward reading it alone.

Rachel was too young to participate, but I let her pick a book also, and she chose one of my favorite classics:  Sammy the Seal.

I also found this really neat book about the human body that goes along perfectly with the human body unit study we're doing.  When you slide out each page, the black and white picture turns into a colored picture illustrating various systems of the human body.  So cool!

  1. Thanks for joining WMCIR! It's great that each child got a chance to pick something of their choice. We like Syd Hoff books here too even though some illustrations are kind of dated now. I hope everyone will enjoy the Body Book too.
