Weekly Wrap Up: Is It Summer Or Is It Winter

Last weekend it was in the 70s here.  The end of this week has been in the 30s and 40s with possible snow. I can't really decide what season it is.  It's also been awfully cloudy which reeks havoc with my moods.  So, I'm feeling rather touchy at the end of the week here.  Thankfully today was beautifully sunny, although cold. It's been a fairly productive week though.

Ashlyne, Rachel and I have added Apologia's Flying Creatures to our school schedule for a few weeks because I have the opportunity to review it for the Schoolhouse Review Crew.  We are enjoying it.

We continued on with our new art curriculum that we are really enjoying.  This week we studied Byzantine icons and made our own.

I had one of those homeschool inspiration moments this week.  A friend and I were talking at co-op last week about not having enough room in our houses to display all the good information charts we could have in a classroom.  She was talking about making a notebook with timeline for her kids. Then I discovered in the Schoolhouse Planner all these great reference sheets.  So, I composed a notebook of important need to know information for each child.

Hmm, in a nice blog post with pictures it actually looks like a really good week.  Maybe next week will be sunny all week.

  1. Hi! I'm also on the Review Crew, we are working through swimming creatures and loving it so far. The need to know book is a fabulous idea. Hopping over from Weekly Wrap Up.

  2. We just started swimming creatures (after flying creatures) and love it as well. This is the first time I purchased the notebook/lapbook activity book. Usually we make our own journal but I love how much time it saves.

  3. Thank you, Holly. Jess, we love the notebooks. We have the one for Astronomy also this year, and it had been great!

  4. Have fun with flying creatures. We did it a few years ago and it's a lot of fun. I was sad I couldn't get in on this review but since I already own them all... lol
