The Little House That Stood- A Brand New VeggieTales!- And a GIVEAWAY

I was super excited to see the release of a brand new Veggie Tales video- The Little House That Stood.  It's been quite a while since we had a new Veggie Tales around here. I think I may have even been more excited than the kids!

"The Little House That Stood" is a parody of quite a few nursery rhymes and fairy tales. It begins with the feature story- "The Little House That Stood". As kids watch the parody of "The Three Little Pigs" mixed in with the Bible parable of building the house on the rock, they will learn about the importance of making sure our lives are built on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ. Then they can watch another Silly Songs With Larry (I was especially glad to see this old favorite part.) And finally they hear the rhyme of good old Humpty Dumpty the mayor who had to learn that it's more important to care for others than to always look out for one's self.

Lots of my favorite Veggie Tales components were here- kids humor and grown up humor rolled into one, funny characters who really made the story funny to watch, a life lesson taught in the midst of entertainment, and of course, the Silly Song. I liked the humorous use of the children's tales and rhymes. And I was happy to see that there was still a strong focus on teaching kids what God's Word has to say about life.

I do have to admit that I didn't like the Silly Song in this one. It just seemed too...silly. But the rest of the video was classic Veggie Tales. We enjoyed it!  You can read more about it and get a discussion guide and activities at The Little House That Stood website.
