The Ultimate Blog Party 2013

Ultimate Blog Party 2013

I've joined in the Ultimate Blog Party at 5 Minutes for Moms several times. I thought I'd give it a go this year. If you've never heard of the party, go check it out. There are lots of great prizes (I've won before!) and the chance to meet lots of other mom bloggers.

If you are here from the party, Welcome! Let me introduce myself and show you around a bit.

Who am I?

I am Leah Courtney. I have been happily married to best friend, Jason, for over 18 years now. I homeschool my four children- Kathryne, age 13, Charles, age 12, Ashlyne, just turned 9, and Rachel, age 7. You can get to know us better here.

Why blog?

I started blogging years ago as a young stay-at-home mom. I'm an introvert, so I like to be alone, but sometimes I just get lonely for some real contact. Blogging has led me to some great online friends. It's also been a great way for me to learn more about homeschooling, parenting, homemaking, and so much more. It's been a HUGE encouragement to me over the years.

I hope that I can give back that encouragement now. I write about our days, about products we love, about things I've learned homeschooling and homemaking over the years. One of my favorite series of posts has been this series I wrote about Getting Started Homeschooling.

What to blog about?

I blog about good books I've read on my sister blog- Leah's Good Reads. I blog about homeschooling- especially the wrap up of each of our weeks with a Weekly Wrap Up post.  I occasionally blog about homemaking- even though I need to learn more than teach in that area! I blog about reading through the Bible in 90 Days- something I really enjoy doing. I also sometimes blog about other devotionals or things I'm learning from Scripture. I do product reviews occasionally. This year I have the opportunity to review for The Old Schoolhouse Schoolhouse Review Crew. I'm really enjoying this and have come across some great homeschooling resources!

I'm really glad you stopped by with the party. I'm looking forward to visiting throughout the weekend. If you stopped by from the party, leave me a comment to let me know, and I will be glad to come stop by your party post also!

  1. Hi Leah! I agree with you. Blogging is a great way to find support and like-minded people. It can be hard when we're stuck at home all day. It's a way to express yourself! So glad you have chosen to education your children at home. Thanks so much for stopping by Blue Manor Education! I am a new follower.
