Waiting for something good is a hard thing for young children to do. And it's very hard to explain to kids that sometimes you have to make a choice to pass up something good in order to wait for something better.
Can't Wait Willow is a cute and colorful book that helps kids to look at these hard concepts. Willow is waiting for something very good- a trip to the circus. But when she chooses to spend her money and her time on other good things, she almost misses the very best thing.
This book is very well illustrated with colorful pictures that will capture the attention of children. The situations in which Willow finds herself will be ones to which every child can relate.
I read Can't Wait Willow with my girls- ages 8 and 9. They enjoyed it. In fact, it had been sitting on my review shelf for a few days when they caught a glimpse of it and pleaded with me to let that be our bedtime book.
Can't Wait Willow is written by Christy Ziglar, niece of the well-known Zig Ziglar and a mom of twins. It's published by Shine Bright Kids and is the first of a series of books about Willow and her adventures. The Shine Bright Kids website has some great resources also including printable color sheets and reward charts.
