This week begins Week 7 of reading through the Bible in 90 Days. I've finished up Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, and Job this week, and I headed into Psalms.

Job is a difficult book for me to read. As many times as I've read it now, it is still hard for me to understand. What really strikes me every time, though, is that none of us understand the mind of God. All of Job's friends thought they were speaking for God. They were letting Job know how he had messed up and what he needed to do. But God speaks at the end and sets them all straight. It's a good reminder to me. I tend to be critical of other people, and it's easy for me to point out how wrong someone else is. Job reminds me that I need to be careful not to speak for God..

As I read on this week, I'm in the Psalms. The Psalms are very hard to read in the 90 day program because I'm reading so many Psalms a day. Psalms are poetry, and when I read poetry, I want to read it slowly and ponder the poem, but this reading plan isn't designed for that. I try to make sure that I have other times to read through various book slowly, so that I can think through them more.
