This week I'm sharing Five Days of Great Kids Reads. I'm going to be highlighting a few of our family favorite books in different categories. Today I'm sharing some of our favorite picture books.

OliviaOliviabooks by Ian Falconer- Olivia the pig has always reminded me of Ashlyne, and Ashlyne and Rachel have enjoyed the Olivia books for quite a well now. Olivia is spunky and adventurous; and she's a fun little pig to get to know.

Toot and Puddle: In Search of the Snowman
Toot & Puddle books by Holly Hobbie have also been favorites. We love the gentle, sweet stories of these two best friends.

Dont Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus!Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!by Mo Willems- All of the pigeon books are favorites of ours. Mo Willems has several. The pigeon is a very funny character. The books are easy to read for young readers, but they are also hilarious to read aloud.

We are in a Book!Gerald and Piggiebooks are more by Mo Willems that we love! Ashlyne and Rachel found these books when they were very little, and we all instantly loved them. They are also easy to read, but they are more fun when read aloud. It's really fun to take turns reading as Piggie and Gerald.

The Charlie and Lolabooks by Lauren Child are Rachel's favorite. I enjoy reading these books about Charlie and his little sister Lola. And sometimes I try for a British accent because we've seen the t.v. show and love the accent.

Love You Forever
Love You Foreverby Robert Munsch- If you've never read this one, I challenge you to read it aloud to your kids without crying. In the story, the mother sings a song of love to her little boy as he grows into a man. It's incredibly sweet and incredibly touching.

I'd love to hear about your favorite picture books in the comments.
