Since I've been homeschooling, I've heard good things about A+ Interactive Math. I haven't had the opportunity to review it (but hope to soon.) The reviews that I have read are really good. And the fact that they have family plan pricing for their online program or offer software CDs means that bigger families- like mine- have some economical choices.
With all of our math struggles, I worry about the kids- especially the younger ones- being on track for their grade level. Although grade levels aren't something we focus on, I know when it comes to math particularly, not having the right foundational knowledge can affect learning later on. So, I'm especially interested in a new product that A+ Interactive Math is offering- an Adaptive Placement Test With "Individualized" Lesson Plans to help students who have gaps in their math knowledge. The testing program identifies target areas the child needs to strengthen and presents a program to bring the child up to the appropriate level in those areas. From the program's description:
- Colorful, engaging and fun multi-media lessons that teach math concepts using audio, visuals and text.
- Interactive Review for each lesson identifies and closes learning gaps by automatically re-teaching math concept if student provides an incorrect answer to any questions.
- Worksheets to apply math concept and practice problem solving with automatic grading and tracking.
- Various reports to measure student progress.
The student can take various test to measure math performance.
Reports will give detailed information about areas the student needs to strengthen.
Then the program will develop lessons to help the student work through weak areas.
The student's progress will be documented throughout.
