This Week @ As We Walk Along the Road- March 7,2015: Warmer Weather and a Slow Week

{this post may contain affiliate links}

This week finally brought with it a bit of warmer weather- always an encouragement for this Southern girl. Unfortunately for us this time of year, it's just a tease. Cold and rainy weather was back with a vengeance. Although I think we are supposed to be warming up again next week. Besides the back and forth of weather, it was a pretty "normal" week for us around here. In fact, I was pretty amazed at the lack of photos I had when I looked at this week's pictures. I guess that means nothing very photo worthy was happening. But here are a few highlights of the week.

1. I'm very thrilled about the upcoming ARTistic Pursuits review. Ashlyne and Rachel and I are doing the My Father's World Countries and Cultures unit this year, and, although I love almost everything about My Father's World, the "art" for this year's study consists of a global art book aimed at younger kids. This ARTistic Pursuits book is about color and painting. We're all looking forward to it.

2. Okay, ya'll. This week's sweet puppy picture might top them all. I sat down on the schoolroom floor to pet her while the girls finished up some work, and she crawled all the way up until she was all the way in my lap. As she was cuddling with me, the girls snapped some pictures.

3. It was actually warm enough this week to sit outside! I took my Bible reading out to the swing. I've had trouble keeping up with my reading this time reading through. So I had some catch up to do.

4. It encourages me that we eat McDonalds so rarely now that Charles couldn't remember the last time he'd had a double quarter pounder. He was starving after play practice last night- He's going to be Daddy Warbucks in a production of Annie.- and I stopped by and let him get supper. I know it's not good for us. But it is very rare.

Tomorrow we're headed to a gymnastics meet. We're fast approaching the end of meet season. In fact we only have three more meets, counting tomorrow's. I think I'll be ready for a break.

I'm looking forward to some warmer weather this coming week. It's shaping up to be a pretty normal week. On Tuesday, I'll be part of a Bright Ideas Press hangout - Advantages of a Textbook Approach to Teaching History. This is the third hangout I'll be a part of, and they are always great, with several homeschool moms chiming in with advice and suggestions. You can join us here.

I'm linking up this week with Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers and Home to 4 Kiddos.
