Blessings of homeschooling

For this last post, I just want to encourage you in your homeschooling journey. It is not always easy, and there may be days you just want to quit. But, before you throw in the towel, remember some of the blessings of homeschooling.

*If God has called you to do this, you are in His will, and that is the best place to be.

*Your children are with you and are influenced by you more than with other adults or peers.

*You don’t have to get up early in the morning if you don’t want to.

*You can go meet Daddy for lunch.

*You get to watch your children learn new things for the first time- not see it second hand after they’ve already done it at school.

*You get lots of hugs and cuddles all day.

*You are around for all the really big questions that come up in life.

*You get to go on vacation when places aren’t crowded because school is not out.

*You can take off days you want/need to, not days the school system dictates.

*Making green glop out on the deck can count for science.

*Children bringing weapons to school is not a fear you have- unless you count the homemade sling shot.

*Cleaning your room counts as Home Ec.

*You have the privilege and pleasure to fulfill God’s command in Deuteronomy 6 to its fullest. You can truly teach about the things of God when you rise up, when you lie down, and when you walk along the way. You can do it all the time because you are there all the time.

Enjoy your homeschooling journey.
