I’ve decided that I am very techno dependent. My internet went out briefly yesterday, and I had severe withdrawal even though it was only about thirty minutes. I’ve become quite dependent on being able to turn on any techie device whenever I so desire. Here are my favorite gadgets:
1. My laptop: This has to be my number one. My personal laptop is where my love of all things technical began. When I no longer had to share my computer time with children or worry about files disappearing on my ancient desktop, I became quite computer dependent. I blog; I read; I find homeschool information; I have friends and fellowship; I find recipes; I organize my home and our school; I do it all online.
2. My ipod touch: Second only to my laptop is my ipod touch. I have apps that tell me the weather, organize my life, let me play games, and let me watch movies. I can also store my photos and my music- and get online anytime I have wireless access.
3. My Kindle: This is my newest techie toy and already I can’t remember what I did without it. I can find free Kindle reads everywhere, and I can carry thousands of books in my purse at all times. If I am caught waiting on someone, I am never without a book to read. Heaven!
4. My cell phone: This one should probably come higher on the list, but I confess that reading and organizing both usually take priority to phone calls. I do enjoy a good texting conversation because I can carry on the conversation even with children carrying on in the background. And if I forget what was said, I can just scroll back and check my messages. 🙂
Ah, the joys of technology. I’m glad I don’t live in the good old days!
