A Good Read Blog Cruise: Featuring Some of My Favorite Reads

I frequently blog about books over at my Leah’s Good Reads blog. But today I’m happy to bring some of my favorite reads here for the Good Read Blog Cruise! Here are some of my recent favorites.

The Guardian by Beverly Lewis is Amish fiction. It was a sweet romance that was also an inspiring read as Jodi, the main character, befriends an Amish family and learns to deal with her grief over the loss of her sister.

Claiming Mariah was a very good, Western themed Christian romance. The characters were great, and the sweet love story that developed was very good reading. It’s one I had a hard time putting down.

Whistling Past the Graveyard was a Southern novel that reminded me of To Kill a Mockingbird and The Help. When Starla, a young white girl, runs away from home, she meets Eula, a black woman, with a secret. Starla’s life becomes entwined with Eula’s as the two have adventure after adventure together. Set during the time of the Civil Rights movement, the story explores the topic of equality while being an entertaining and touching read.

These are some of my most favorite recent reads. Check out some other good reads by cruising around to visit the other bloggers.
