Welcome. If you are stopping by from The Ultimate Blog Party, I'm glad you've stopped by. I've participated in the blog party for several years now; and I always like the opportunity to meet new bloggers. (And I love the awesome giveaways!)
Let me introduce myself. My name is Leah and I'm the mom of four children. I turned 40 this year (gasp), and I can't believe that I'm the mom of teenagers. I have a 14 year old, a 13 year old, and a 10 and 8 year old.
We homeschool. We've homeschooled from the very beginning- since birth really. To answer all the questions- Yes, I am rather crazy. Yes, they are very socialized. We do leave our house. In fact, we leave it quite frequently. Yes, I am qualified to teach. I was a "real" teacher before I had kids, but I don't think that qualifies me at all. In fact, sometimes I think it has hindered me. What really qualifies me is that I know and love these kids, and I feel that God has called us to homeschool in our family.
As you can imagine, I don't have tons of free time. I do love to read, and I read and review books over at my other blog- Leah's Good Reads. I also review homeschool curricula through the Schoolhouse Review Crew and a few other companies. Occasionally I review other products. I love blogging because I've met so many great people and found so much encouragement.
I enjoy being a homemaker, although I don't think I'm very good at it. I'm always on the quest to help my family live a more healthy lifestyle. I eat gluten free for health reasons. We eat fresh eggs from a friend's chickens. We drink raw milk. And my oldest is also a vegetarian. But we still have unhealthy foods floating around the house also. I guess it's always a process.
If you'd like to get to know about us a little better, check out some of the blog posts I've featured below. And thank you again for stopping by. Don't forget to check out all the other party blogs at 5 Minutes for Moms!
