Easy Spring Flower Craft with Kwik Stix

Spring is in the air! Along with inch worms and potato bugs. But, we’ll choose to focus on the positive. In honor of my favorite season, my daughter and I had fun making spring flowers. We used one of my favorite art resources- Kwik Stix.

With these instructions, you can make some very simple spring flowers. Because Kwik Stix are a non-messy way to paint, this craft would be perfect for the little people in your life.

What are Kwik Stix?

Kwik Stix, created by The Pencil Grip, Inc.are paint sticks. They’re made like glue sticks that roll up for easy use, but they contain tempera paint. The paint dries quickly, and, because it’s in a stick form, there is very little opportunity for mess.
Although the Kwik Stix might look a little different than other paint, you can use it on any surface where you could use tempera paint. We’ve used our Kwik Stix on construction paper, cardboard board, cardstock, printer paper, and wood.
You can find Kwik Stix at The Pencil Grip, Inc. or on Amazon.

Spring Flowers with Kwik Stix

Construction paper- a light color is best
Glue- glue sticks worked well
Kwik Stix paint sticks- We used the thin sticks and the thicker ones.

Put glue on the cupcake liners and glue them to the construction paper.
Use the Kwik Stix to draw stems, grass, and other background features.
We were creative and each used the cupcake liners differently.
