Carolina Renaissance Festival: Local Family Fun for NC and SC

We’ve loved spending time at the Carolina Renaissance over the years. For many years it was a family tradition to attend the festival, and, as the kids have gotten older, it’s been especially nice because the festival fits in with a study of Medieval history.

This year we enjoyed comedy routines, the marketplace, and jousting. My youngest was thrilled that she had an opportunity to ride a camel!

If you’re looking for family fun, there’s something for everyone at the festival. Just a note for parents with young children- there are shows that use some crude humor. The shows are pretty well-marked to help you know whether or not you want to watch them with your children in tow. This helps to make the festival more family-friendly.
Don’t worry if you missed this year’s festival. It comes each year, and we’ve had the opportunity to enjoy it many times!
