About Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women

This devotional book has 365 numbered devotionals. Each devotional is topical, features girls and women from the Bible, and is paired with a Scripture verse. The devotionals are each meant to be relevant and deal with topics that young women face, such as faith, relationships, and inner beauty. Along with each devotional is a journaling section so that the reader can record personal thoughts.

My Thoughts

~ This is a beautiful book that makes you just want to sit down and begin using it.

~ The devotionals are numbered but not dated. So the reader can begin with Day 1 anytime throughout the year and not have to wait for January 1- perfect if you're thinking about giving this as a gift throughout the year.

~ The devotionals are short and can easily be read in a short amount of time, making it even more likely that the reader can develop a regular habit of reading them. (The fact that they are numbered by days but not dated also encourages daily reading but doesn't create stress if you get behind.)

~ There is a relevant Scripture that will draw the reader to God's Word. I will note that the majority of each reading is the actual devotional story for each day. There is a Scripture connection, but the Scripture isn't necessarily the focal point. I still love the readings and think that this Scripture connection could encourage young women to look further into God's Word.

~ The devotional topics are relevant to young women today. The girls and women featured dealt with some of the same topics that we worry about today.

~ I love that there is a journaling space each day. It's an encouragement to think about the devotional and make application to your own life.

Review of Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women

While this devotional is aimed at young women, and I probably don't fit that category any longer, I loved it. I would have kept it, but one of my daughters came along and claimed it first. It's a great resource and would make a wonderful gift. Of course, you could always purchase one for yourself!
